Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop – Merry Christmas

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Dreams December Blog, wishing you a Merry Christmas!

If you are following the hop links then you have probably come here via Tracie’s blog, over in Canada. I just love her project.

I wanted to make some Christmas table favours using the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and dies. I am a bit late to the party on this one as I have only just bought them. I’m not really sure why it has taken me so long as it is a stunning set and I am so looking forward to having more of a play with it over the next few days.

I love the shape of the faceted box which is made with DSP. Once you get the score lines right, they come together so easily. The top opening is secured with a magnetic closure. I have filled mine with lindt chocolates, now to try not to eat them before Christmas Day!

I have limited supplies to hand as I am waiting for our house purchase to finalise, so most of my crafting supplies are in storage. I had some of the hostess DSP so used the stunning black and white designs. I couldn’t find my embossing powders but I think the poinsettias would look lovely embossed in gold or silver. Blends were used to colour in the rhinestones.

The poinsettias are Real Red and Blushing Bride. The poinsettia leaves are Evening Evergreen. I also cut out the intricate leaves from the Artistic dies, using soft succulent cardstock.

I sized the box so as to get two boxes from one sheet of DSP, but you can resize the box to sort your needs as long as you follow the basic design of the template.

Click on the link below for a printable version of the template. Please note that it is not to scale.
