Hi and thank you for stopping by on my blog today. I am taking part in this months Kre8tors blog hop, which is all about Dads and Grads.
I had intended to use Geared Up Garage for todays project but that soon evolved into a different idea!
At a recent Creative Market that I attended my make and take had a fathers day theme and had to be quick and easy. These are the cards that we made, using the watercolour pencils and blender pen to colour in the car. A touch of wink of stella made the paintwork look metallic!

So, I went into my studio this morning to work on my blog post, and there under my pretty peacock ink pad was this gorgeous feather. My husband had seen it on the driveway and left it for me as a little surprise! It belongs to a Jay….quite a mean bird as it attacks nests, but very pretty colours none the less.
It inspired me to create a different card. I used the BEST stamp from Geared Up Garage as my background….the oil spill. The feather and other splats are from May’s Hugs From Shelli Paper Pumpkin kit.
This then progressed into a Fathers Day card by adding words from Well Said which were heat embossed in white and cut out using the stitched rectangle dies. However I had stuck them on wrong so my card opened the wrong way. I quickly trimmed the card front and mounted into a 5″x7″ card base in Sahara Sand. Ta da….I love it and my husband has asked me to make another for his Dad.
From cars to feathers, with a common theme of the oil spill stamp!
I love the softness of the oil image when used in other colours, it has such great detail. Here I used them with our pretty butterflies….not masculine cards at all, but definitely making perfect use of a masculine stamp!

I hope that you’ve enjoyed my eclectic mix of cards today, I’d love to hear your thoughts – comments link is at the top of this post! Do you have a stamp that you always use on varied projects, please tell!
The next blog in the hop is the lovely Su Mohr, Aromas and Art. Just click on the NEXT button below to see her wonderful creations.

I love, love, love your car cards! Great colors! That feather card….WOW! Love the “oil spill” in the background and the feathers! That quite nice, but not as pretty as the real blue feather!
Stunning cards Michelle, TFS
So many wonderful card designs. Great use of this stamp set and colors 🙂
Great ideas and I love the solution to an oops!
All of your cards are fantastic! If I had to pick one I think I’d pick the Feathered Father’s Day. TSF
so glad they kept Geared Up Garage as your cards show it can be used with other sets……….
All of your projects are lovely, and I especially love the feathers! Thanks so much for sharing your creative projects and hopping with us!
Wow, i love all of them! Next time i will need some card ideas for men, i will go back to these!
All of your projects are just awesome, but if I had to pick a favorite It would be the feather card, and I am not normally drawn to feathers on cards. You are a great designer! TFS
